Following a Trail of Lights

Almost every year since 1965
a section of Austin has come alive with
Christmas magic

In all the years I've lived here,
had never seen the Trail of Lights with my own eyes
until Monday night
and then I wondered...
why did wait so long?

The lights forming the tree below are strung from one of the original Moonlight Towers, constructed in 1894 after a Jack-the-Ripper type murderer terrorized the city.

Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas, full of light and love!
I'm grateful for each and every one of you!

  1. These are gorgeous! If I had tried to take these photos, they'd be a bunch of squiggly lights, with no distinct forms.

Love the dog, with the purple lights!

  2. Oh wow.. your city sure knows how to light up its life in style. Scrumptious colours.

Wishing you and yours the very Merriest of Christmases, Barbara.

  3. As much as I am not a Christmas fan, I do love the lights. What an amazing show.

  4. Barbara,
Your light shots are just so festive and beautiful! I hardly ever stay out late enough to see the Christmas lights, so this was a treat for my eyes.
Now I see that you live in Austin. When talking to my husband about Texas, he says the only place he would move to would be Austin.

  5. Such a magical display of lights! Love it. HOpe you and yours had a very merry Christmas and big blessings for the new year.

Take a minute to share your thoughts and make my day!
