A Week Ago Today...

Last Monday I spent the afternoon near
and IN
Lake Travis,
tagging along after this sweet, fun family.

You can see more photos of them over at my website

But you won't see them all.
I kind of went crazy.
I took over 200 photos!

Between working, editing those photos, and celebrating Father's Day with my dad and then with Tom,
this past week has zoomed by.

But guess what?
One of my photos will be featured in HuffPost 50's
but I'm not sure when.
I'll keep you posted.

I have other photos I want to share with you soon
of the yucca blooms
and this weird metallic beetle my kids spotted
but they aren't ready yet.

So I'll just share these of this awesome old red truck
resting in the parking lot of Bogie's Buggies,
an automotive shop in Lago Vista.

It's missing a few parts.
Can you tell?

I hope they can fix it up,
but I loved it the way it was and had fun meeting it
and playing with the photos.

(If it had air-conditioning, automatic windows, and a radio, this would be the vehicle of my dreams!)

Thanks for coming by!
I hope you have a wonderful week!

Red Truck Therapy

Red trucks, blue skies, my camera and a few free minutes.
Sometimes it doesn't take much to make me happy.

I spotted these beauties along Highway 71 on my way back to Austin from Houston this week.
I made a U-turn in LaGrange so I could go back and admire them up close.

As much as I love them in color,
old trucks and cars just lend themselves to variations of black and white.

I had to share this one in color, too.
Minty delicious!!

Old Truck Love

They sit in a field on Highway 71,

always catching my eye as I head to Houston,

eliciting a vow to stop and take their picture...next time.

I finally made a U-turn and stopped Saturday.

Dead camera battery.
Dang it.

So on my way back home Sunday

I finally

fulfilled

my vow.

Glad that's out of my system!

Take a close look at that oldest truck.
Those are bullet holes in the windshield, aren't they?

Just an Old Truck...

...That's all it is.

Just an old, rusted truck.

But my heart skipped a beat at first sight of its broad grin, cracked windshield, rounded lines...

...the speckles and splashes of rust and primer...

I just love old trucks.

Don't you?
