Weekend in Wimberley (Part 2: Mystical Statuary)

I spotted them through the window of the guest house.

"A mini-Stonehenge! How cool!"

Of course, I grabbed my camera and headed that way.

Drawing closer, I noticed their strange formations.

I just didn't realize how eerily strange until I viewed them from this angle.

These two reminded me of monks with their hoods pulled up over their heads.

But these two are more ghostly, aren't they?

I found out they were sculpted by an Austin artist (I'm not sure who or I'd give him/her credit.)

The previous owner of this property was part of a religious group who drank a specific hallucinogenic tea during ceremonies twice a month.

These are spooky enough to me in the daylight.

Just one of a zillion reasons why you won't find me drinking hallucinogenic tea.

  2. Wow. Freaky. They do remind one of monks. Creepy ones though. Glad you have sense enough to stay away from the psychedelic tea. :)

    1. Disturbing yet fascinating. Yes, indeed. One woman thought they would be great for wedding photo shoots with candles inside, but that still seemed spooky to me! lol

What a great photo opportunity though.

  5. Yes I see the hooded monk or veiled woman from the back. But the shorter ones look like urinals. I would not want to have a beer bash at this location.

  6. I wonder what the heck they are supposed to represent... maybe the mind, on hallucinogenic tea!

    PS: Enlarging worked GREAT!
