Morning Light

I ended my last post with this image,
but felt it should start this one about morning light.

Each morning the sunlight splashes over the hillsides into the Hollow,
pouring over the sides until it fills completely.

I've never been able to capture the splash in my camera until now.

This is the second best so far, similar to what I normally see walking along the road...
...but I just can't quite capture the magic of it right side up.

Walking through the woods, however,
it's easier to capture the fingers of morning sunlight pointing at leaves...

...spider webs...

...yaupon holly berries...

...the tiptop branches of oak trees...

...oak leaves...

...oak leaves...

...oak leaves...

...and oak leaves.

  4. At this time of year, that morning and late afternoon sunlight is so fleeting and rich. Despite it's short-lived appearance each day, you've captured it beautifully.

  7. Nice shots, Barbara. I'm too darn lazy to get many morning shots these days. But I try to make up for it by not missing too many late afternoons/early evenings without my camera at hand.

  8. Barbara, you really took advantage of the light. I'm in my 3rd year of photography and really starting to pay attention to that more. These are great captures!! You live in an idyllic area.
