The 4th of a July in a Vineyard

I worked at the winery yesterday.

I was grateful I brought my camera when I spotted this carriage.

A woman and her daughter - and their horse, Dolly - were giving rides to customers around the vineyard.

Modern horseshoes?

And then it was the staff's turn for a spin around the grounds...

...right at sunset.

I hope you had a great 4th of July!

P.S. Speaking of horses...I was chosen as a Featured Fifty Fine Artist at Huffington Post, thanks to "I See You".

So once again, thanks for asking me to photograph your horses, Lisa!

  1. What fun - that carriage is just lovely.

  2. that's a great set of shots! yes, the rubber 'booties' are a good cushion for horses made to work on asphalt and hard road surfaces, etc. :)

  3. awesome feature on huff. post!

  4. THIS is the most refreshing 4th of July Post I've EVER SEEN!!!
    You deserve it.
    love & love,

  5. Gosh ~ those are some fancy horse shoes! And how fun to go for a ride in the carriage. Your smile says it all. Lovely!
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend Barbara!

  6. these are wonderful .. i wonder if those horse's shoes were to protect the cobblestones as much as to protect his hooves

  7. cool would that be...a norse drawn carriage is so that it is all white too...horses are awesome...we have stables nearby and i love to go watch them...

Take a minute to share your thoughts and make my day!
