Is it a pond that was built in your yard? We have a very small one that needs a lot of work. I sure wouldn't get in mine either, although I have only seen frogs and gold fish.
This is a natural pond, Charlotte. Just a tiny one along a creek that flows on our property. Well, it's not flowing much right now, unfortunately, with this drought!
The same reason I don't swim in our pond!! I was just photographing the tadpoles a couple of days ago, and had these same feelings. We also have a snapping turtle. :-(
LOL ... oh I am so with you ... no way would I jump in!
ReplyDeleteNot quite Istanbul, but still fun to photograph! lol
DeleteNo further explanation needed! (I get those spiders in my pool)
ReplyDeleteAt least you can see them and keep an eye on them in a pool! lol
Deletei think the skimmers are so darn cool. :) what, no snakes? where's the fun in that? i'll lend you some of ours... snapping turtles, too.
ReplyDeleteOh, we've got snakes and snapping turtles, too. I just didn't get a photo of any that day! They're fast!
DeleteNot a single one. I'm sure glad you do take photos of your pond, though.
ReplyDeleteIt's great for photos, that's for sure!

Deleteohhhhhh.....i love your pond, but like you....NO WAY would any part of my body touch that water :)
ReplyDeleteIt's already too crowded, don't you think?
DeleteHaha, say no more! Don't blame you a bit. That little frog is too precious though!!!
ReplyDeleteI am really loving all the frogs!!

Thank goodness the neighborhood snapping turtles live next door! We do have a painted turtle but he's awfully shy!
DeleteTexas sure has a lot of bugs
ReplyDeleteYes, we do!! I guess they all like the moderate temperatures, too, dang it.
DeleteThey like water.
ReplyDeleteJust like I love going hiking in the jungle.
I'm sure your jungle holds much more than this, but I'd love to go hiking through one someday!
DeleteLOL! No other explanation needed indeed! A wonderful place to photograph but not so good for swimming.
ReplyDeleteFun post Barbara!
Happy Sunday!
