A Night Stroll in Hyde Park

Hyde Park is an eclectic little neighborhood in Austin, filled with charming cottages and unique restaurants.
Want to stroll along with me while I practice my night shots?

Just the right touch of Christmas decorations.

This vintage Mercedes fit right in with the rest of the neighborhood.

I just like neon signs.

While I snapped away, Tom and Daniel caught up on the neighborhood news.

Knitted pole scarves were everywhere!

Famous for their vegetarian and vegan food.

Cheap transportation.

A restaurant on every corner.
I want to try them all!

Do you see the face? Well, at least the eyes?
It's amazing the difference a scarf makes....

Another knitted pole scarf!

We ate here in celebration of Daniel's friend's graduation from UT.
Yummy Italian food!

What's that you say? You want to see photos from the graduation?
Well, okay. Here are a couple of my favorites...

These messages caught my eye.
I wish them good luck!

One of my favorite shots of the night.
I don't know who they are, but I'm glad I captured it...
A universal image of proud parents.

  1. You do a fine job of nighttime photography. Beautiful shots.

  2. Wonderful shots! Do you take all these shots handheld? (I*m so hopeless at night shots.)

I do love that last photo.

  3. knitted pole scarves?! see/learn something new every day! :)

  4. It looks like it was a wonderful evening Barbara, and your night photographs are wonderful! I DO love that car!!!

  5. Looks like the Knit Bombers have hit Austin! I first saw then in Dallas in September. Great night shots!

  6. Barbara, just stopping back for another look, and to say thank you for sharing these wonderful photographs with us at The Creative Exchange.

    Have a great day!

  7. Those pole scarves are something ... never seen such a thing! Nice photos!

  8. You really captured the essence of Austin! Great photos. The pole scarves are my favorite as well as the last shot. :) I tried to convince my daughter that Austin was just as funky and cool as Portland. She agreed, but said it's still too hot here. Couldn't argue with that. :/

  9. I love the night shots Barbara! But...I have to say the graduation "parents" really touches me. That photo says so much don't you think?

and...thanks for stopping by my blog...your comment made me is like you know me...and my ways...Here in Vail for a few more days...I have to work until Christmas it might be a challange this year to pull it together. : )

Take a minute to share your thoughts and make my day!
