Frankie's Dirt Bath (Frankie Part 3)

Ah, that felt good.

The first time I saw Frankie take one of his dirt baths, I didn't know what the heck he was doing.
But it became clear by the end.

I'm grateful I was able to catch the whole process with my camera one day.

I guess the dirt helped rid his feathers of little bugs, perhaps?

The very last photos I took of Frankie are posted on Long Hollow HERE, along with my post from the day he died.

I hope you've enjoyed my Frankie photo album!

P.S. Voting has begun for the PEC Photography Contest.
Go HERE to vote for my photo of a morning walk with Frankie, Tom, and the puppies.
Thank you!

Walking with Frankie (Frankie, Part 2)

Just a few photos from the archives of Frankie, the guinea fowl who blessed us by choosing us as his family a few years ago, until his untimely death two years later by some unknown predator...

We miss you, Frankie!
(If you missed it, be sure to visit Part 1)

A dog is one of the remaining reasons why some people can be persuaded to go for a walk.

A Frankie Photo Album

Our local electricity co-op is sponsoring a photography contest in honor of their 75th anniversary. They are looking for members' favorite photos representing their life in Central Texas.

So of course I chose a photo of a walk with the puppies, back when Belle really was a puppy and Frankie, our late guinea fowl, thought he was one, too.

We never tired of seeing that funny little guy tagging along.

The link to my submitted photo is HERE
Voting begins on the 26th and I'd really appreciate yours.
I could win some cash!

It was tough trying to pick one to contribute, but so much fun digging back through old photos of Frankie.

I came across several favorites and thought I'd share them with you.

Technically and photographically, they aren't great.
But memory-wise, they're priceless.

Oh, how I miss that funny face peering in at me...

Charly's turn.

Finally, Frankie's turn.

Okay, that's enough for one post.
