Did you know today is Flag Day?
On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution adopting the American flag.
It's not an official federal holiday, but does that matter?
Take a minute today to sing happy birthday in her honor and to say a prayer for our troops who labor for us- who risk their lives for us - under her colors.
Toss in a prayer for our country while you're at it. I think we need it.
I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

ReplyDeleteNo, I did not know this. It's funny, but looking at these wonderful images, I can't help but feel they are backwards! Weird, huh? I guess I'm so used to seeing images the other way around.

Recently such emotion comes to me as I look at our flag. All those that fought for our freedom - the families at home waiting for their loved ones to return...
