Happy Birthday, Old Glory!

You still look FABULOUS TO ME!

Did you know today is Flag Day?
On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution adopting the American flag.

It's not an official federal holiday, but does that matter?

Take a minute today to sing happy birthday in her honor and to say a prayer for our troops who labor for us- who risk their lives for us - under her colors.
Toss in a prayer for our country while you're at it. I think we need it.

I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

  1. Have a great day...
    Regards from France,

  2. So proud of our flag! Wish the "one nation under God" part was respected more.

  3. Interesting that you received a comment from someone in France. Reminds me that on our Bicentennial, July 4, 1976, you were in Paris!

  4. No, I did not know this. It's funny, but looking at these wonderful images, I can't help but feel they are backwards! Weird, huh? I guess I'm so used to seeing images the other way around.

  5. Yeah, I thought the same thing, Jill, but that's just the direction the wind was blowing and my vantage point! lol Snatched these when I was shooting Daniel the other day, and these were just spur of the moment or I would have run around to the other side.
Brenda, that is funny, isn't it? I agree, Gail! Thanks, everyone!

  6. Recently such emotion comes to me as I look at our flag. All those that fought for our freedom - the families at home waiting for their loved ones to return...

    Beautiful flag...

  7. Indeed!!!
    Great photographs Barbara!

  8. Hope you had a good Flag Day Barbara! :)
    xo Catherine

  9. I salute your handsome flag - I actually really do love the American flag.
    Have a lovely weekend!

Take a minute to share your thoughts and make my day!
