Linton Mancilla by Keith Land

Photos of Linton Mancilla at One World Theater last Saturday by Keith Land. (I forgot my camera! Read the full story on Long Hollow here.) He shared some links and tips on photography and lenses with me, too. I was almost glad I forgot my camera!

Jim and Eric (Linton Mancilla) returned to One World Theater last night as the warm-up music for Grammy-award winning guitarist Ottmar Liebert. Congratulations, guys!

Wild Mustangs...

...rambling wild and free.
I'm thinking jam...
...or perhaps Mustang Grape Wine?
I see a new hobby on the horizon.

A Summer Night in Texas

Texas summers are hot.
Your best best for a breeze is a spot on a hill.
Add music, friends and a sunset... well, that's just heaven.

Photography Rock Star - Scott Linstead

I'll admit it right now - this post is a copycat from my friend, Jillsy. Yesterday she posted the following photo by photographer Scott Linstead. (To see Jillsy's original post, click here: Jillsy Girl  It's worth it... she gives extra information on both Scott and chameleons. Very interesting!)

Seeing photos like this make a beginning photographer like me want to hang up the camera!

(Nah, not really. My addiction is stronger than that. I'll keep snapping away, just happy to get a little better every day. I'll post more of my own photos this weekend.)

Barn Love

Barns... where art meets utility.

I spotted these gems on a road trip through America's heartland...
I'd love to know their stories.

Welcome to Long Hollow Photography!

Can a girl have too many hobbies? Obviously, I don't think so. When that 50th birthday appeared on the horizon, I realized I needed to get moving on things I had been putting off.
So I started a blog for my writing, Long Hollow... I started taking writing classes at the community college... I wrote the first draft of a screenplay and began working on a novel... I started playing (at) the drums... and I started using my Nikon.
I've always had a camera close at hand, but it's only recently that I've become a full-fledged addict. I blame my friend Jillsy... and I thank her. She inspired me to snap more and invited me into her 365 FlickR group, where I've received even more encouragement and have been inspired to learn more.
I decided to start this blog and devote it to photography - a place to post my favorite photos and share links and information about photography.
Got any suggestions?
Oh, thanks for stopping by!
