Weekends are for Walking

I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house.
~ Nathaniel Hawthorne

To-do lists were forgotten this past weekend.
The sunshine called me and I answered, heading for the woods
and the wonder to be found there...

Follow me through the woods to a damselfly-covered pond,
along a dry creek bed lined with ancient cedars,
and back up into the sunshine where butterflies feast on tiny yellow buds.

  1. Your macros are marvelous! Especially the third one down of the yellow flowers. All of them are wonderful though and yes, how can one stay indoors when such beauty surrounds us in autumn.

  4. Oh, I love that quote. I have felt the same way as the fall days draw to a close. I know there is little time left of warm days, sunny sky and beautiful color.
It looks like you had a wonderful day out walking. Your photos are full of light and color and the wonders of nature. Beautiful.
