Light

My eye is drawn to sunlight.
When I walk in the mornings, I notice it reaching into the Hollow, chasing the shadows away.
In the woods, I love how it works its way in, shining tiny spotlights on a tree, a weed, a blade of grass,
and dances on ripples in the water.

The sun is the epitome of benevolence –
it is lifegiving and warmthgiving and happinessgiving,
and to it we owe our thanksgiving.
~ Jessi Lane Adams

Light, God's eldest daughter...

Light gives of itself freely, filling all available space.
It does not seek anything in return; it asks not whether you are friend or foe.
It gives of itself and is not thereby diminished.
~Michael Strassfeld

Turn your face to the sun and the shadows fall behind you.

The sun is nature's Prozac.

The windows of my soul I throw
Wide open to the sun.

No matter how fast light travels it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

Do not anticipate trouble or worry about what may never happen.  Keep in the sunlight.

But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life,
and thanks to a benevolent arrangement
the greater part of life is sunshine.
~Thomas Jefferson

From within or from behind
a light shines
through us
upon things
and makes us aware
that we are nothing
but the light
is all

  6. I love looking at life through your lens...both the camera and the beauty of your words, both original and collected.

I am made breathless by those "tiny spotlights" that peek through trees and highlight a flower or a leaf. I like to think of it as God being unable to resist the urge to reach out and touch something doing what it does best...being itself.

Thanks again for the inspiration. I don't know how you have time to be this creative, but I'm glad you do. I'm blessed by it.

  8. Thank you! I like that image of God reaching out to his works of art, too. I don't really think of this reflecting my creativity as much as showcasing his! Gina, I hope you're finding time to look through your lens these days!

    SO TRUE!!

On our long trip, hubby and I talked about sunlight, one of many topics. How amazing it is that it can illuminate so much, even holes and crevices enough for us to see into them, even if just a little. And, how natural light can't be replicated - it is totally unique.
