Long Hollow Autumn

Worried Autumn was passing us by, I began wandering through the hollow,
camera in hand, looking for signs of the season.
Of course, I found them...I just had to get creative in my searching.
If you look long enough, you tend to find what you're looking for, right?

Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn.

-- Elizabeth Lawrence

Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.

-- Stanley Horowitz

October is a symphony of permanence and change.

-- Bonaro W. Overstreet

The lands are lit with all the autumn blaze of golden-rod,
and everywhere the purple asters nod and bend and wave and flit.

-- Helen Hunt

There is a harmony in autumn, and a luster in its sky, which through the summer is not heard or seen, as if it could not be, as if it had not been!

-- Percy Bysshe Shelley

Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile.

William Cullen Bryant

Autumn burned brightly, a running flame through the mountains, a torch flung to the trees.

~Faith Baldwin

Every season hath its pleasure; Spring may boast her flowery prime, Yet the vineyard’s ruby treasuries Brighten Autumn’s sob’rer time.

 -Thomas Moore

Every leaf speaks bliss to me,

Fluttering from the autumn tree.

~Emily Bronte

Glorious are the woods in their latest gold and crimson,
Yet our full-leaved willows are in the freshest green.
Such a kindly autumn, so mercifully dealing
With the growths of summer, I never yet have seen.

~William Cullen Bryant

Autumn wins you best by this its mute appeal to sympathy for its decay.

 -Robert Browning

  4. They are all beautiful and portray the season wonderfully. I especially like the one with the pond ~ it is as though there are gold coins floating on the water. I also love the golden grass with the sun hitting against the green of summer in the background.
