Crape Myrtle, Sun-Loving Color of the South

God lessens the double-whammy misery of heat and humidity here in Texas with a blessing of summer-loving crape myrtles. I made an exception to my "nothing but wild-scape" plans by planting three at the top of our walkway to greet visitors. 

They finally bloomed for me...








I wasn't the only one admiring the new blossoms...
