New Love

Would you believe
my friends and family pitched in and bought me
a big, beautiful Mac computer?

I'm still in shock.
You can read about it here.

Mac and I are still in the 'getting acquainted' phase of our relationship... the past week has been crazy busy... but it was love at first sight.  I can't wait to play with some photos I took of a friend and her family last week, and get back to work on my book.

I hope you forgive me for neglecting you.

In the meantime, here are a few shots from a recent afternoon walk...

I loved the contrast of this yellow flower against the dead wood.

Tiny flowers.

Tossed by the wind.

Sunlight's touch, instant art.

Sunlight illuminating the petals.

The bugs are back!

Framed by purple.

Finally staying still long enough to say hello.

Which way did it go?

I hunt flowers and dragonflies.
They hunt lizards.

To each our own.

  1. Your photos are always fantastic... but that big Mac blows me away! We are a Mac family, too and I wouldn't have anything else... unless it was a bigger Mac!

  4. Congratulations Barbara!!
You are going to love it.
I cannot think of anything finer for photography, and I would be so lost without mine.

  6. Ooooooooooh, you lucky, lucky girl - only this week I was out pricing Mac's, ever since my eldest got one at Christmas, I've been pining for one. Hubby has also worked on a Mac since forever, and simply swears by them. Sadly, right now I really can't justify the cost, so I've opted for a Toshiba, instead (but of course I love it, anyway - and there is always next time for that Mac..)!

Love your photography - the macro shots are gorgeous.

  8. How exciting, did you sign up for the one to one. I have to drive 1.5 hours to the mac store but it's still worth it, I learn so much each time and I've had macs for over 20 years :)

I've been scrolling through your recent posts, so many beautiful photos, the butterflies made me swoon, the 2 for I shot is stunning <3

  9. Wow, Barbara! That is just so nice of them. I have thought about the switch but would have to get all new programs that would be compatible with Apple. Let me know how you like it.
Lovely photos. I am downloading one to use a texture on to show you the difference it can make. I will send right back and would never use or abuse it.

    :o)

  10. Awesome! You will love your Mac! Take your time getting acquainted ... I made the switch 5 years ago and have never looked back. Best thing I ever did ... especially for the photo/creative side!
