Street Scenes... 6th Street Austin Texas

Historic buildings, live music, dancing in the streets, colorful characters...
what more could a photographer ask for?
Okay, maybe a better lens and lighting, but I captured it the best I could with what I had...
Take a walk with me and see what I saw as the night wore on....
(For the background story of why I was roaming 6th Street, click HERE.)

The crowds are picking up... there's dancing in the streets...

I wasn't the only one snapping photos...

What's a night on 6th Street without an arrest or two?

...and drummers...

This was on South Congress, not 6th Street, but it was part of the same weekend and too cool not to post...

I'm ready to go back...camera in hand!

With Love from Port Aransas (days 3 and 4... sun, seabirds and saying goodbye)

May we see after the rain, fair weather,
after the darkness, light,
after these storms and tempests,
a gentle calm. Amen.
~St. Cyprian of Carthage

Until next year...

With love from Port Aransas... (day 1...arrival)

Summer says goodbye,
packing up its blazing sun and afternoon thunderstorms and heading south.
Autumn moves in,
sweeping the clouds from the sky and the tourists from the beach,
lowering the thermostat just a tad,
polishing all we see
so colors
POP!

Crossing onto the island... getting closer!

Pastel houses...we're closer...

An hour, a cartload of luggage, a dozen mosquito bites, and an elevator ride later, I'm here. Sigh.

Still time for a walk on the beach before sunset...

...and back where I started...

Circles

A circle symbolizes eternity - no beginning, no end.
A circle, a ring of gold slipped on a finger, symbolizes love and marriage.
We speak of the circle of friendship, hand in hand in hand.... strength in numbers.

Life itself is a circle... birth, death, birth... on and on and on, generation after generation.

The moon circles the earth circles the sun, visual reminders, lest we forget, of a thing that refuses to circle back around, despite our efforts to bend it, hold onto it, or make it stand still...

Time.
